On July 27, the US and EU reached a breakthrough trade agreement that may have dodged a full-blown transatlantic tariff war. Instead of the steep 30% tariffs previously threatened, most EU imports will now face a reduced 15% rate.
Trump Is Delaying EU Tariffs
President Trump has pushed back the start of steep EU tariffs—again. Originally set for early June, a last-minute phone call with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen bought the EU until July 9.
